I have been teaching for 8 years now and 6 years ago I completed a “One Year Diploma Course in Modern Music Performance” at Drumtech in the Powerhouse Institute.
I am happy to say that as of January 2008 I have taken on my first full time teacher, Ian, to teach in my Bishop’s Stortford studio. He has been taught by myself and trained to teach by myself also. He has a great passion for teaching and performing as well as furthering his own learning experience. He’s fun, laid back and great with younger learners…. Though, as he’s getting old and grey now (35yrs old!) he’s great with the older generation too!
We’re both CRB checked and am glad to say that we passed with flying colours!
I personally only teach in my Hoddesdon studio now. I CAN do one to one but more often 1 to two and a possible one to three when in Hoddesdon. All the material taught by myself or Ian is my own, which I have personally tried and tested and am constantly adding to.

We teach a range of drum kit styles including:

• Rock (the most common as it is the easiest)
• Pop
• RnB/Soul/Hip Hop
• Funk
• Jazz/Swing/Big Band
• Shuffle/Blues

I personally teach "double pedal" but only to those who are at a stage to be able to play it properly!

We teach on an acoustic kits (i.e. not electronic) and we’re hot on people using them properly!

We always keep a level of enjoyment in the lessons however believe that a little hard work is necessary in all aspects of life sometimes.

UNLIKE most drum teachers we teach people from the age of 7yrs and upwards and in fact some of my best players have been under the age that most teachers would take on.

We keep a level of professionalism to my lessons but also like them to be on an informal basis as we don’t really like to think of ourselves as “Teachers” but more of someone there to help you get a better understanding.
Prices for lessons vary and can be subject to change, but at the moment they are as follows:
Chris Senior in Hoddesdon:
60mins = £35 (one to one)
60mins = £20.00 (one to two)
60mins = £15.00 (one to three)
Ian in Bishop’s Stortford (one to one):
30mins = £13.50
45mins = £19
60mins = £25
