Your lessons will generally be 30 mins one to one on a weekly basis (breaking 2wks for Christmas and Easter and 4wks over August). However there are other choices we have for you:
30mins 1 to 1
45mins 1 to 1
60mins 1 to 1
60mins 1 to 1 Bi-weekly (subject to availability)
60mins group (Hoddesdon studio only – See learn with a friend for details)
In lessons you can learn a range of drum kit styles including:
• Rock (the most common as it is the easiest)
• Pop
• RnB/Soul/Hip Hop
• Funk
• Jazz/Swing/Big Band
• Shuffle/Blues Metal
You can also learn “double pedal” if that’s your bag!
You will learn on an acoustic kits (i.e. not electronic) and you’ll learn how to play them like a musical instrument as well as develop a good ear for music.
You’ll also get very hot on improvisation, which means once you grasp some basics you’ll be able to (within reason) play along to most tracks.
There is always a level of enjoyment in the lessons and with them being fun too it really makes the learning process easy. Even the things that you’d think might be tough.
UNLIKE most drum teachers we teach people from the age of 6yrs and upwards and in fact some of our best players have been under the age that most teachers would take on. There is always a level of professionalism to the lessons but also like them to be on an informal basis as we don’t really like to think of ourselves as “Teachers”.
